WARSAW — A local fundraiser held on National Doughnut Day is helping five local families raise funds for adoption. Jordan and Shelbi Gillette, Daniel and Jessica Manduka, Brian and Cara Warren, Andrew and Stephanie Flamm and Lee and Becca Snider were all the recipients of proceeds from third annual Raise the Dough campaign, which donates proceeds towards helping sponsored families realize the blessing of adopting a child.
On National Doughnut Day, June 2, about 250 participants visited the Baker Youth Club to pick up pre-ordered boxes of Krispy Kreme or Rise ‘n Roll Bakery doughnuts or purchase additional boxes, enjoy doughnut holes prepared by Rua restaurant and purchase merchandise made by MudLOVE to support area adoptions. More than 100 boxes of doughnuts were sold.
“I’m thankful for Raise the Dough because they have a passion to provide every child a home,” says Jordan Gillette, one of the recipients of Raise the Dough fundraising efforts. “It’s great that Raise the Dough can partner with couples like Shelbi and I to help us raise some of the funds so we can provide a loving home for a child.”
Raise the Dough thanks the many organizations that contributed to the fundraiser: MudLOVE, Rua restaurant, Light Rail Roaster and Café, Rabb Kinetico Water Systems and Orthocity BBQ provided the food, drink and merchandise available during the event. The Baker Youth Club, Mason Geiger Film, Jaci Forshtay Photography and WIOE Oldies 101.1 contributed the facility, film, photography and on-location music broadcast.
“We were so very blessed by generous donors here in the community to provide the delicious treats and venue for such an amazing fundraiser. I couldn’t have asked for a better day,” said Tobe Forshtay, Raise the Dough founder.
“For those who were unable to be with us, you can still help. MudLOVE has graciously recognized Raise the Dough, Inc. as a recipient of their fundraiser marketplace. They’re hosting merchandise on their website and selling on behalf of Raise the Dough.”
