Hello! We are Matt and Christy from Florida and we are so very thankful for Raise the Dough and their blessing us with an adoption fundraising partnership. We have been married for almost three years and began trying to grow our family a year and a half ago. After miscarrying our first child, we have since been told it will be very difficult for us to have biological children. We have always loved children, adoption, and desired to have a large family through both biological and adoptive children. God showed us He wanted us to start our adoption process now, and we are very excited to welcome a child into our home very soon.
We see a great need in our country for all children to be raised in a loving, God-honoring family. Christy comes from a family with four international and domestic adoptive brothers, and Matt has an adoptive aunt and uncle. We were blessed to be raised being taught adoption is a picture of the Gospel: God’s unconditional love for us, His chosen children, and His graciously adopting us, granting us full rights as co-heirs with His Son, Jesus Christ. We humbly pray God would allow us to be this kind of family for children in need, reflecting God’s lovingly adopting us into His family. We cannot wait to share this love with our future adoptive children.
Matt will be beginning four years of seminary to become a pastor this fall. We are excited for all the upcoming transitions, but also recognize the financial burden both adoption and seminary tuition have placed on us despite our intentionally saving a large portion of our income for several years. Raise the Dough’s agreement to partner with us in fundraising for our adoption is a tremendous answer to prayer and we look forward to seeing how the Lord will continue to provide for our family.
